Projector Screens Great for Big Screen

One time I went over to a friend's house and she was giving me a tour of her family's brand new house. It was quite impressive, two story, nicely decorated, with an impressively landscaped back yard complete with a refreshingly looking pool. But what I remember most clear that day was walking through the glass doors into the family room, where they were watching a movie on a relatively big projector screen. This was a completely new concept to me and I was in awe.

Although I do not yet have a home of my own, I let myself have some fun, and I dream about what type of entertainment system I would like for my own house. While LCDs and Plasmas have the spotlight lately because of the whole TV conversion thing, a home projector system is something you may consider if you're looking for a new type of home theatre system.

On www.wisegeek.com, it states that there are two types of home theatre projectors, film and digital. While film is harder to come by for the consumer, the quality of the picture is better. The digital home projector processes the image through a chip. You will also need something to project the image on, a projector screen. Projector screens range from a sheet you can hang up on your wall to a specialize projector screen. Once you complete your home theatre system, it can be quite expensive, but many would feel the price is worth it. A home theatre system will allow you a theatre-like movie experience in the comfort of your own home.

Zune Good Alternative for iPod

If you think iPods are the only great MP3 players out there you're mistaken. While ipod reputations are backed behind Apple, there are many good alternatives out there for mp3 players. Microsoft has introduced the Microsoft Zune which have been compared to the iPod and has received great reviews.


According to consumeresearch.com, the first Microsoft Zune did not compare well to the iPod, however, newer models have seemed to be rid of it's kinks and now the Microsoft Zune is on the consumer research's website as one of the "best reviewed"! According to professional reviewers, the Microsoft Zune has more features than the iPod, such as wireless synching and sharing.

While the Microsoft Zune is worth the money and consideration, this is by no means a suggestion that you should discard your iPod and run out and buy a Zune. The website makes the reminder, that if you already have an iPod and an extensive collection of music on your iTunes then the iPod is still a great player. This is only a reminder that there are other options and the Microsoft Zune is a serious one.

Official Sony PS3 Bluetooth Headset

I really want to check out this! I want to get one for my brother and this seems like a really cool bluetooth. It really looks up to date! Sony have officially unveiled their new PS3 Bluetooth headset which will not only be bundled with the up and coming SOCOM Confrontation but will also be made available as a stand-alone product and which, certainly from an aesthetic standpoint, certainly looks rather more appealing than the Bluetooth headset that previously came bundled with the Warhawk title. Offering compatibility with any game that supports in-game voice chat, the new PS3 Bluetooth headset – which Sony advise is a work in progress (meaning this may or may not be a faithful representation of the final article) - comes complete with integrated mute button and USB docking cradle which will charge the device though, at the time of writing, no details concerning battery life or charge times have been made available.

No word at this juncture concerning unit pricing either as part of the SOCOM Confrontation bundle or as a standalone purchase.

Rear Observation System: Making Driving Easier

When I was first learning to drive, backing up was one of my most difficult task. "Don't go to fast! Don't go to slow!" My dad was probably just as scared as I was. While I attempt to manuver my car backwards, he threw criticism after critism, "Keep you eye on the back. But use your side mirrors also." Man...it was tough. Even during my driving test I was knocked off points because I didn't back up correctly. I remember in highschool, one of my classmates got in her first accident. She backed up her car from the driveway, into the street and right into another car. I've had my liscense for nearly 8 years now, and I still have a hard time looking behind me to back up my car.

I mean, it's akward, you have to twist your body, turn your head and strain your eyes to make sure the path is clear, all the while keeping your eyes on the side and rear view mirrors AND the front of your car to make sure you don't hit anything. Fortunately for us, technology has made it easier to back up and driving less hazardous. Audiovox has developed a product called, "Rear Observation System." Although it came out in 2004, I'm sure there are many people out there who have not heard of this item yet. This could be the answer to many people's driving fears and could also be great prevention tool for accidents.

Audiovox has introduce a rear observation system with LCD screens. BBQ Thermostat- oh so important.

So maybe in the middle of January it's a little too early to talk about Bar-b-ques...or is it? As far as I'm concern, it's never too early to talk about bbqs. BBQs are great! There's family, friends, and ofcourse the food...Ohhh the food. But sometimes the food is the most complicated and troublesome part of the day. Because BBQing requires such high heat, your results are sometimes burnt crispy on the outside and disgustingly rare on the inside.

Watching food related and cooking shows are probably my most favorite past-time, and these shows have taught me a valuable lesson. With the right tools, most anyone can be a decent of not good cook. So among the many invaluable tools required to make a decent meal, a thermomter is one that I have seen cooks use and discussed over and over again. There's candy thermometers, meat thermometers, and ones for frying also.

So why so important? Well, thermometers can help maintain the consistency of foods cook. They also are indication of doness on meats which can help prevent food borne bacteria and illness. Ever heard of Salmonella? Yea, not so pleasant. It is better to just use a reliable thermometer than gamble with your health. Using a a good thermometer to get your bbq right will save you the trouble of moving your meats prematurely and will also save you time and energy. Do your research and find out what's out there. I'm telling you, invest in a good thermometer for your bbq, and enjoy your bbqs even more!

Nissan Offers Electric Car in 2010

I think that Nissan is a great Car company who really cares for their customers. I recently have a Nissan sentra 08 and Nissan workers help me out a lot. They are friendly and they always give me a complimentary car wash (=. haha While Honda and Toyota prepare to battle for hybrid supremacy, Nissan has decided to simply skip that step and become the first major automaker to sell a mainstream electric car.

The AP reports, "Nissan showed on Wednesday a spiffy electric car packed with a battery developed by the Japanese automaker to deliver more power than the type common in today's hybrids. The electric vehicle, set for sale in 2010, carried a 300 kilogram (660 pounds) lithium-ion battery and still zipped around a Nissan Motor Co. test course, accelerating more quickly than comparable gas-engine cars."

We have no idea, however, what the production car will look like. The model shown to the press was a Nissan Cube -- a small wagon resembling a Scion xB that Nissan hopes to bring to the U.S. market in 2010. But the automaker said in a press release, "The production vehicle to be introduced in 2010 will have a unique body style and is not based on any existing Nissan model."

Edmunds Inside Line adds, "Details such as cruising range are yet to be determined." While automakers often release new technologies in Asian or European markets first and bring them to the U.S. several years later, we may get Nissan's electric car early. "The Nissan electric vehicle is set to go on sale in Japan and the U.S. in 2010 and globally by 2012."

That puts it in direct competition with the next-generation Toyota Prius, and Chevy's hybrid Volt.

For auto junkies, the biggest surprise in the debut was the sight of a working lithium-ion battery. The Washington Post explains, "Better known as the energy source of choice for most laptop computers, cell phones and other portable electronic gadgets, lithium ion batteries are now being eyed by the automotive industry for use in vehicles." While many manufacturers are believed to be developing lithium-ion cells, they have proven notoriously difficult to tame. Built large enough to power a car, they tend to overheat. Nissan, however, says it has developed a new series of li-ion cells that are nearly ready for production. This new battery is constructed of "laminated cells that are stacked on top of each other inside batteries." The cells "are just a few millimeters thick," enabling the automaker to build batteries of varying sizes and capacities easily. "The laminated batteries also run cooler so they are much less likely to overheat."

Apple's New Store in Melbourne

Apple is already a huge company. They wanted to expand their horizons by opening another great store in Melbourne. I never would have expected it to look like this though. I was shocked (not in a bad way) when I first saw the pictures.

Apple is expanding their store all around the world in order to keep up with Microsoft. Now they will soon open a new, modern and stylish Apple store in Melbourne Australia. This new store is part of a $200 million redevelopment proposal in Melbourne,Australia. The store features stylish glass atrium ceiling, and will be adjacent to a hotel and shopping complex. According to the design documents, this new cubed-style Apple store will consume the largest chunk of place in the retail plaza and is reminiscent of the company’s flagship location in San Fransisco. I'm sure that there are millions of camcorders out there, but this one claims that panasonic launched the world's smallest camcorder. I'm pretty sure that Japan made probably the smallest camcorder, because they make EVERYTHING SMALL! I've seen their cell phones as small as a "tamagutchi" (I think that's how you spell it haha). There is no price on this though... yet! We all just have to wait.

I remember writing an article about cell phones and how parents could track their children through their cell phone. I thought that was pretty much invading their privacy. I mean this could be good if you are going to the park or somewhere where it is easy for someone to take a child. But never for older kids. I think that they would feel trapped or imprisoned. On occasion as a parent you get stuck in situations where you’re more worried than usual about keeping track of your children. Well Lok8u is releasing a gadget to help you out in such situations. It’s a set of watches that incorporate GPS, so that you never lose track of your little ones. Likely this won’t be ideal once your kids get a fashion sense of their own, but it will work for at least the younger kids. That is unless you can pitch the watch to them in a way that they won’t mind that it’s a bit on the unfashionable side.


Hopefully you don’t always have to be wearing the watch either, because even the adult version is a bit unattractive. I’m not sure specifically what situation would make you want your kids housed with a GPS unit. However, the watch is an interesting concept. Jumbo Remote Control

I thought this was pretty handy, yet I thought that this was already sold in stores and has been for awhile? Has it? Well, that's what I thought haha. But anyways, as a matter fact it is a really good idea. Cause I know in the living room, I can't find that stupid DVD remote or the Satellite remote. or the fan remote. There are so many damn remotes! haha That's cool someone invented just one. If you are one of those people who have several electronic devices in use just to watch TV you also know that there needs to be a remote for each of those devices. This is the motion-activated animal deterrent that protects your flower beds, garden, and ponds from deer, raccoons, herons, or domesticated animals without using harmful chemicals or requiring unsightly barriers. Using infrared detection technology that is effective day or night, the device activates an integrated sprinkler when a visitor enters its 105° field-of-view, spraying a forceful yet harmless stream of water over a 1,575' sq. area. The sudden noise and movement of the sprinkler frightens the uninvited guest, causing it to scatter while discouraging return visits. The unit stakes into the ground and attaches to a garden hose, while a dial allows for adjusting the motion detector and spray to focus on animals of a particular size, from small cats to deer. Though not the intended purpose, this video from Handheld Games Corp shows that the app load time of the 2nd Generation iPod Touch is notably faster than the 1st Generation model.
